HOTELS

The hotels we deal with are accessible, they have no stairs or steps, the lifts are wide and our disabled guests will be able to move all around the buildings. The rooms we book for people with disability have roll-in shower and WC with grabs. In Italy all the hotels must have accessible rooms if they have been built or renewed after 1990 unfortunatly this is not always true. The hotels have usually 1 or 2 accessible rooms but there are hotels with many accessible rooms and these hotels are suitable for parties and congresses.
On request we can book for you accessible apartments (efficiencies) in typical coutry side farms; this'll be a very nice way to stay in a quiet and green corner of Italy not too far away from the most famous artistic towns like Siena, Perugia, etc.

TRANSPORTS

Van & Coaches
We use for our guests special vans with powered lift, in few cases we use vans with ramp. The vans can transports up to 8 passengers plus our driver. We calculate our rates for maximum 7 pax, because during the sightseeings and the excursions a guide'll use the seat near the driver. In case the party doesn't ask for the guide the available seats'll be 8. In few case the vans can transport less than 8 pax. Usually vans can take in up to 3 wheel chairs.
In Bologna there is a cab service with special cars, one person sitting in the wheelchair
can stay in. This is a public service and acts as a normal cab.
In Venice we utilize special boats with available space for 2 or 3 wheel chairs. These boats has a special platform. They have space up to 5/6 able-bodied passengers, too.
The pubblic boats cruising the Canal Grande are accessible too.
Regarding the pubblic transports the Italian situation is not good. Now in Rome the situation is upgrading. D
ue to the Jubileum of this year 2000  new accessible coaches are serving now the townl providing pubblic transports on the main lines but up to now only the underground line B is partially accessible the line A is not accessible and has been replaced by an accessible bus service (Line #590).
In Milan the underground line 3 (Yellow line) is accessible.

Rent a Car
We can rent a car from many companies like Avis, Hertz, Maggiore, at very competive rates. Unfortunatly cars with hand controls are not available in Italy at this moment and minivans with lift are not available to be rented without driver, too. Large cars like station wagons and minivans (without lift) are rentable but they are few and must be booked a long time in advance.
On request we can provide an accessible minivan with ramp for self driving; an ablebodied driver is required. Pick up and drop off at Milano Malpensa Airport.

Trains  Photos
The Italian railways net is well equipped to help people with disability. More than 150 Italian railway stations have a reception service for disabled travelers.
This service must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. There are seats reserved for travelers with disabilities on each Italian train but these seats are not accessible if you can't move from your wheelchair to the seat. For our clients we book fully accessible special compartments in first calls special vagoos. These compartments have space for 2 wheelchairs and 2 ablebodied companions. These compartments are equipped with an accessible toilet, too. We book the assistance provided with portable lifts by the railways staff at no extra cost.

Ferries & Cruises
Tirrenia's ferries have 1 or 2 accessible cabins on their scheduled daily lines to Sardinia.
Grandi Navi Veloci has 2 ferries with 2 special accessible cabins each.
The new Costa Line ships as Costa Classica and Costa Romantica have special accessible cabins, 6 on each ship.

  SIGHTSEEINGS AND ASSISTANCE

On request we can supply expert guides for your sightseeings or excursions in all major languages and handling by experienced staff on arrival and departure in each Italian port of call.
We can provide medical and nurse assistance, book for you manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs or scooters to rent, provide tickets for any artistic show, event or fair all around Italy, in few world we can provide you what you need.
